  This is not a good review. Coastal Orthopedic (CO) doesn't deserve one. If you need local neurological or orthopedic care, find & use other practices. I've seen two different CO doctors for two different ailments since 2015. The doctors mostly have been fine, if quite young, suggesting CO is unable to retain experienced practitioners. CO is a large bureaucracy pushing patients in and out of expensive procedures. Staff is largely indifferent. Patients complete the same forms time and again at each stop through the system. CO is organized to maximize revenue, charging fees from multiple profit centers. A confused back office cannot credit payments promptly or properly. More? During a recent visit to the Lakewood Ranch office, a technician was unable to secure my blood pressure reading using the same model cuff I bought three years ago at Walmart. Rather than find a device that worked, she gave up. The next person I saw, a 'doctor's assistant' (DA), opened my meeting with rolled eyes and, 'Why are we here?' Indeed. I had expected, as promised, that I would see the doctor. The DA informed me he wasn't in town. Last week, in the Pointe West Surgery Center, my anesthesiologist argued with my surgeon and center staff whether or not I was to be anesthetized before the procedure. Meanwhile, a nurse collecting pre-surgery data talked over my answers to her rapid-fire questions. It didn't matter. None of the laptop computers at the surgery center were working. Yes there's more, but you're probably tired of reading this. I don't blame you. Go elsewhere.
